Description
The pear-shaped vase has a long neck and a well-formed outwardly curved lip edge. The short standring is slightly facing outward. The allover color – included the bottom – is greenish-grey with allover craquelures except the lower edge of the standring. It is a shape observed since the late 11th century in the celadon ceramics.[1] The curvature is decorated with nuanced light to dark iron-brown leaf-motifs which were applied with a brush. During the firing process the color changed. On the lower part, close to the standring, is a longer fissure in the vase. (HV)
