Description
This black-brown container for food-storing is a ritual vessel. It has an attractive curved shape. There is an expanded neck and mouth, a bulbuos body and a conical, well crafted standfoot with a cavity inside. Clearly visible are remains from the former white-beige decoration: three lines around the finish of the neck and underneath set up triangles. The decorative ribbon around the body wears xxx-patterns. Under the transformation from the neck to the body are clouds and animals, presumably water dragons.
Clouds are considered as symbols for happiness, dragons as animals from the Chinese Zodiac and contrary to a European view as benign creatures. (HV)
