Ceramic wine\/water container from Chinese Han Dynasty (206 BC \u2013 220 AD). Vessels of this kind were very popular and often found on burial sites. The shaping is similar to bronze vessels of this period. It has a small neck, a wide shoulder area and a smooth rough bottom surface. The shaping is modeled similar to bronze vessels and completely painted in different shades of grey. That means it was firstly fired as ceramic under a \u201ereduced atmosphere\u201c (oxygen deprivation), and afterwards cold painted. The vascular body shows minor traces of painting. The darker shoulder area and the lower part were also designed. The bottom side is rough and untreated. People of the Han Dynasty liked it to drink wine and enjoyed numerous types of wine as reported in old sources.
